The Scent of Departure

I am a bit of a sucker for something that is a bit novel and comes in great packaging.  So these 'Scent of Departure' perfumes definitely caught my eye.  Inspired by exotic and city destinations, they aim to to take you far away without having to leave your home or 'subject yourself to long queues at the terminal gate'.

Now when I saw there was a perfume designed after New York, I was a bit confused how this would be achieved!  But it's apple (big apple, get it!), lilac and rose (from central park) and vanilla make for an alluring scent.

And just how fab is that packaging!? There are many more destinations to choose from (Bali, Miami & Istanbul to name but a few), so check out their website and online store here!

Winter Essentials

I blogged back at the end of March that winter was finally on its way.  Well I was a little wrong as mild weather managed to hold out for the last four weeks.  But today that finally ended and I think the temperature failed to get above 12 degrees.  So here is my follow up winter post, with some winter essentials!  Mind you, I have left it a bit late as my favourite bargain retailers (ASOS and Topshop) have a limited online winter collection right now.  Our opposing seasons get in the way and I need to plan my winter wardrobe in our hot summer!!

Clockwise from top left:
Topshop cotton hooded contrast duffle. A good duffle is a winter essential!
ASOS Alby boot. Classy, simple and timeless
Country Road mongolian lamb scarf, for a glamourous pop of colour.
Witchery Paris leather and suede gloves
Country Road pom pom beanie, cute and functional!
A khaki jacket is another winter essential, and this one by River Island at ASOS is perfect.

And some winter beauty essentials:
Inspired by Seal on The Voice, some neon yellow nail polish to brighten up a dreary day.  China Glaze nail colour in Celtic Sun (also check out Kit Cosmetics). Available via eBay.
And my all time favourite product that I have been using since I was a child, Lucas' PawPaw ointment, is a chapped lips and skin saver! Available everywhere!

Rita Konig - Possible Perfection

Rita Konig is an amazingly talented interior designer and writer, and some of her best work has been her own abode(s). These images are old, like a few years old, plus I think she has moved a few times and I cant work out which photos are her new and old apartment.  It doesn't matter, it's interior porn at its best.

Etsy Finds - Bird Ave

Continuing with my slight obsession with affordable and unique art I am excited to share Bird Ave with you!  They make fantastic skyline prints of cities, towns and tourist spots around the world, and can also customise prints for you!  So you don't have to have the neon blue pictured below, you could have lime, pink or orange to name a few!

Below is my town, Melbourne, and also Bora Bora!

There are many many more cities available, so you can purchase the skyline of a place you have visited and loved, or of your home town. They are only $20 each, so you could start a collection!

I also love this 'coffee isn't a drug, it's a vitamin' print.

And this 'I *heart* NY print', soooo clever.

Gillian Zinser

I love the style and home of 90210's Gillian Zinser.  Super laid back, eclectic hippy chic may be a fair description.

How eclectic is Gillian's home?  I wish the photos showed it off a little more, but I cannot find any that do the job.  But if I were to imagine what it was like, I would guess it was something like this:

The rest of her patio would look like this:

...
Home Beautiful

Her lounge, just like this:
wow! lovely loft
Architectural Digest

Her kitchen would be classic, with an eclectic twist, perhaps like this one:

House and Home

Her bathroom would have character like this:
quirky bathroom
The Decorista

And her bedroom just like this one:

Logie Awards

The Logie Awards were held last night at Melbourne's Crown Casino.  Its the night where supposedly the best of Australian TV is awarded and celebrated.  I don't always agree with the winners, but the fashions were spot on this year.

Jewellery Storage

I love seeing the creative ways that people store their jewellery.  Mine is a bit of a mess, so I am definitely drawing inspiration and motivation from these spaces.

My first stop would be the local antique store to pick up some vintage cups and saucers to use for storing rings and bracelets.  I also love the idea of the hands for rings.  A quick search on eBay for "palmistry hand" yields a couple of suitable results.  Also, 'glass hand ring' brings up a heap of coloured glass hands just like the one above.

Boys and Arrows

I love this photo recently published of Ashley Tisdale on holidays.  She looks fit and healthy, but most importantly that bikini is fabulous.  After a bit of an internet stalk, I located its maker.

Trim and toned: Ashley Tisdale showed off her incredible shape in a tiny bikini as she soaked up the sunshine in Santa Barbara on Saturday Trim and toned: Ashley Tisdale showed off her incredible shape in a tiny bikini as she soaked up the sunshine in Santa Barbara on Saturday

The bikini is by Boys and Arrows and the print is Indian Summer, available at Boutique to You.

Pity it is getting colder and colder in Melbourne, I have no excuse or justification to buy it!

Happy Easter

Happy Easter to all my blog visitors and readers! I am off on holidays and will have no internet, so no blogging.

I shall leave you with this piece of cuteness!

Candy Jeans

I love these candy coloured jeans Frankie Sandford recently wore at Heathrow airport. I also love that Hermes Birkin bag!

Yahoo.com
The Birkin bag may be waaay out of reach, but the candy coloured jeans are certainly not.

1. ASOS Cornflower blue jeans are a steal at around $52 Aussie Dollars
2. A little more pricey are Paige Denim Verdugo jeans in Mint for $169
3. Lovely MOTO at Topshop lavender jeans for 38 pounds. I have these in burgundy and they are super comfortable.
4. ASOS Washed Rose jeans for the Frankie look. Only $56.

The great thing about these brands is they all make a myriad of candy colours. So if you have a preferred fit or budget, you can still buy a colour that suits you.  I am deciding between mint and lavender, but my favourite cut is the MOTO at Topshop. Although I think for the price, ASOS are great too.

*SOCK BUN*

Leighton Meester..

I love the classic bun, but these photos show just how versatile this look can be.  I am the lazy 'no style, im super lazy' bun, but recently bought one of those donuts off Ebay.  It was about $2, but I am yet to give it a whirl. There are also a lot of 'sock bun' tutorials all over the internet, as well as a great tutorial from the queen on perfect hair, Lauren Conrad.

Click to Three Pink Dots blog for a super easy 'sock bun' tutorial

Or try this 'no sock required' tutorial over at The Beauty Department (Lauren Conrad's Website)

And here is a great You Tube version!

It's a Brad Brad World

A bit of a lag in posting over the last few days, partly due to a slight lack of motivation combined with me receiving It's a Brad Brad World on my hard drive from a friend.  You may remember Brad Goreski as Style Director for the Rachel Zoe brand, also appearing in the Rachel Zoe Project.  Well I got a little bit hooked on his show and watched it back to back over two days.  In the show not only do you get to know him and his partner, you also get to see their amazing Hollywood Hills home and some outrageous fashion from Brad himself.

See more of Brad's home over at papermag

His sense of style has also taken on a life of his own.  In the series he laments that he is perhaps more famous for his personal style than his actual styling work.

Brad's style aside, he is responsible for this amazing look on Jessica Alba

So if you liked the Rachel Zoe project I think you will thoroughly enjoy Brad's show too!
